This project involved the demolition and rebuilding of the center of the school to create a new learning commons for project-based learning and a new lower school.
The project was designed to connect to the main academic and arts buildings as well as to the middle school to provide a new center to the school where all students can come together. The design features a South-facing student center which opens out onto the new pedestrian-only Centennial Lawn.
This project houses separate schools for Boys and Girls. The building allows integrated but separate functioning of the two schools while sharing common areas such as the gym, library and music room. A welcoming entry plaza gives the students a safe sunny place to congregate before and after school.
